Job summary

Everpool Recruitment in Yeovil, England is recruiting for Clinical Assessors (PIP) to join a hybrid, full-time team. You will perform telephone, video and in-person assessments to evaluate how health conditions affect daily living and work, producing precise reports for the DWP. Training is provided; roles offer Monday–Friday, hybrid working, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered with NMC or HCPC and actively registered.
• At least 1 year of post-registration experience in an adult setting.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills.
• Good IT skills and ability to manage own caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP.
• Make recommendations based on assessment findings.

You’ll use your existing clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a new way, helping to assess how health conditions affect people's everyday lives and ability to work.

You’ll need:

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration

• Excellent report-writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

PIP Functional Assessor

Starting at £40,000

Increases to £41,000 after 6 months (if performance objectives are met), then again after 12 months to £42,000 plus eligibility for the bonus structure scheme (3 assessments per day)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• Functional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
