Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is currently recruiting Functional Assessors for hybrid roles across England. If you're an experienced healthcare professional, you'll use your clinical knowledge to assess how health conditions affect people's everyday lives and ability to work.

The roles offer Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with no nights or weekends. Full training is provided and there are clear progression opportunities as you complete the comprehensive 12‑week programme.

Qualifications

• Registered professionals with active NMC/HCPC registration.
• At least 1 year in relevant adult setting.
• Excellent report-writing and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect daily activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce clear, objective reports for the DWP.
• Make recommendations based on assessment findings.

You'll use your existing clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a new way, helping to assess how health conditions affect people's everyday lives and ability to work.

What we're looking for

• Registered Adult Nurses
• Mental Health Nurses

• Physiotherapists

• Pharmacists

You’ll need

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

Sponsorship is not available for these roles.

PIP Functional Assessor

Starting at £45,000
Increases to £46,000 after 6 months (if performance objectives are met), then again after 12 months to £47,000 plus eligibility for the bonus structure scheme (3 assessments per day)

WCA Functional Assessor

Starting at £48,000
Increases to £49,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5-6 assessments per day - WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Full training provided

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• DWP guidelines and requirements

• Functional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don’t need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
