Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to provide efficient kitchen support within an adult social care establishment. You will assist in food preparation, cooking, and serving meals, ensuring high hygiene and safety standards while supporting the Chef Manager when needed.

The role requires experience in a commercial kitchen or care setting, ability to work independently, and knowledge of food hygiene and dietary considerations for adults in care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen, care home, or catering.
• Cooking experience is essential.
• Understanding of food hygiene practices and dietary considerations for adults in care.

Responsabilités

• Act as Chef Cover during the Chef Manager’s absence and assist with cooking.
• Prepare, cook, and present nutritious meals for adults in care.
• Assist with stock control, portioning, and safe storage of food items.
• Maintain hygiene, dishwashing, and overall kitchen sanitation, complying with Food Safety Regulations.
