Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Kitchen Assistant / Relief Chef to support our client’s catering service in a care setting. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain high hygiene standards and assist the Chef Manager during absences.

The role is a 3-month contract based in Sandy, Central Bedfordshire, with a bi-weekly payroll cycle. You should be reliable, flexible and able to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or care setting.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Previous experience as a Chef or Assistant Chef.
• Experience working in care homes, adult services or residential settings.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

As a Kitchen Assistant / Relief Chef , you will support the catering service within an Adults Establishment, ensuring the preparation and delivery of meals, maintaining food hygiene standards and assisting in the smooth operation of the kitchen during the absence of the Chef Manager.
