Temporary/Fixed term: Until March 2028

Interview date: Friday, 23 October 2026

The Emerald Team in our people's service is looking for an Adolescent support worker. The Emerald team works with young people who are vulnerable to child exploitation or at risk of going missing. Using a multi-disciplinary team approach, the service aims to impact by reducing the risks young people face.

The role of an Adolescent support worker is to build relationships with young people and families to understand their needs, provide targeted support, strengthen resilience, and reduce risks to prevent the need for specialist services. The post holder will manage a complex caseload, coordinate family action plans and work directly with young people to provide appropriate and tailored support.

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 4 qualification or possess equivalent substantial experience within a relevant field. They will demonstrate proven experience of effectively engaging with children and young people, alongside a strong understanding of the risks and indicators associated with exploitation. To succeed in this role, you must have a thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a range of individuals.
