Job summary

Wiltshire Council's Young People Service is looking for two passionate Youth Work Development Leads to help shape and strengthen youth work opportunities across Wiltshire.

You will deliver accredited Youth Work qualifications at Levels 1 and 2, supporting staff and volunteers to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to make a positive difference in young people's lives. This is a 24-month fixed-term role with a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• A degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline is essential.
• Experience in youth work, education, community development, training, social care or a related field.
• Confident communicator with strong partnership-building skills and understanding of the VCSE sector.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accredited Youth Work qualifications at Levels 1 and 2.
• Support staff and volunteers to develop necessary skills, confidence and knowledge.
• Work with community organisations, schools and local partners to strengthen relationships and recruit volunteers.
• Champion participation, inclusion and youth voice across the county.

Wiltshire Council's Young People Service is looking for two passionate Youth Work Development Leads to help shape and strengthen youth work opportunities across Wiltshire.

Working in close partnership with the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Partnership and a wide range of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, you will play a key role in growing sustainable youth provision within local communities. Your work will help expand opportunities for young people, build community capacity, and ensure high-quality youth services are available where they are needed most.

A central part of the role will involve delivering accredited Youth Work qualifications at Levels 1 and 2, supporting staff and volunteers to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to make a positive difference in young people's lives. You will also work alongside community organisations, schools and local partners to strengthen relationships, recruit and support volunteers, and champion participation, inclusion and youth voice across the county.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving outcomes for young people and who have experience in youth work, education, community development, training, social care or a related field. You will be a confident communicator with strong partnership-building skills and an understanding of the vital contribution made by the VCSE sector. A degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline is essential, along with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
