Are you a self-motivated, enthusiastic, customer-focussed individual with experience of working in a busy office environment? Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a full-time, permanent Admissions Officer to start this Summer.
Joining Birkbeck’s Admissions Team, you'll work closely with academic departments, and be responsible for assessing student applications in a timely and professional manner, inputting admissions decisions into the student database and issuing offers to applicants.
You will also play a key role in Birkbeck's recruitment objectives, and participate in Open Days and events. This full-time role is offering a salary of £30,803 rising to £34,346 per year.
To succeed as Admissions Officer, you'll be someone who can:
- Provide a consistent and excellent level of customer service with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work effectively as part of a team and manage their own time.
- Work flexibly across a number of activities when necessary in order to meet deadlines.
- Work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail, and a high regard for the use of personal and sensitive data to support legal requirements.
- And who has excellent IT skills and be familiar with using MS Office, Excel, Word etc.
- Experience of maintaining a student database is desirable.
You will be working in a busy but supportive environment, which encourages personal and career development. You will also have the opportunity to apply for Birkbeck’s Study Assistance Scheme if you are interested in studying at the University while you work.
Located in Bloomsbury, Euston, central London, the post will work in line with Birkbeck's flexible working arrangements and consist of a mixture of home working as well as being in the office.

Salary And Benefits
£30,803 rising to £34,346 per annum which is Grade 4 of the College's London Pay Scale. The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
