Clinical Trainer – Children's Services

Home-based with travel across West Midlands

Full-time, Permanent

Compass Associates is proud to partner with an independent provider of children’s residential care homes and therapeutic schools across the UK. Our partner organisation supports children and young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, and autism. They create therapeutic environments that enable residents to heal from past trauma and develop essential skills for independent living or successful reintegration into family settings.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will design and deliver high-quality training programs for staff working with children and young people across diverse services. Your training will cover a range of psychological and clinical topics including mental health, learning disabilities, pervasive developmental disorders, family assessment, and intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging training and coaching programs using both face-to-face and virtual platforms to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure all training aligns with Ofsted standards, legal frameworks, and best practice guidelines to maintain exceptional care quality.
  • Lead induction sessions and ongoing professional development to equip staff with essential competencies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback and performance data, continually refining content and delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with managers, clinical leads, and other stakeholders to coordinate training efforts and support workforce development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge, manage training materials and equipment, and uphold the organisation’s values and policies.
  • Recognised professional qualification in Nursing, Social Work, or a related training/education field.
  • At least 2 years’ working directly with children and young people, ideally within clinical, care, or safeguarding environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS check clearance.
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Ongoing training and continuous professional development support.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Clear career progression pathways.
  • Supportive leadership and positive work culture.
