The Admissions Team is a busy and essential service within Children's Services, responsible for coordinating school admissions for Cheshire East residents. This includes managing Reception and Year 7 applications, as well as applications for children transferring between schools outside the normal admission rounds.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Admissions Assistant to join the team on a fixed-term basis, working 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday, term-time only. The team currently operates a hybrid working arrangement, with staff expected to attend the office one day per week, currently on a Tuesday. Please note that the office day may change in line with service requirements.
The team plays a vital role in ensuring the Local Authority meets its statutory responsibilities under the School Admissions Code. As an Admissions Assistant, you will process school admission applications accurately and efficiently while providing advice and support to parents, schools, and colleagues. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service within a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join us in this fixed term role. Working as part of a friendly, hardworking, and experienced team, the successful candidate will be well-organised, able to work to deadlines and keep calm under pressure. Knowledge of the School Admissions process is desirable but not essential. Previous education, legal or local authority experience would be beneficial. Good IT skills, the ability to pay attention to detail and a good understanding of confidentiality are a key requirement for the role.
