Job summary

Corpus Christi College Cambridge is seeking an Admissions Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support for the Admissions Office and the Tutorial Office. Qualifications

  • A-levels or equivalent required or preferred.
  • BA Degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience in an administrative environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of UK higher education structure and admissions processes preferred.
  • Experience with UCAS admissions processes is desirable.
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.

Responsibilities

  • Support undergraduate and postgraduate admissions processes and enquiries.
  • Manage applicant and offer holder files and documentation.
  • Administer and invigilate admissions assessments.
  • Assist with interview scheduling and invitations.
  • Process postgraduate applications in CamSIS and share with Admissions Tutor.
  • Maintain postgraduate admissions statistics and trackers.
  • Ensure timely recording of decisions in CamSIS.
  • Support Bridging Course administration and events.
  • Assist with Open Days and outreach activities.
  • Provide day-to-day admissions and Tutorial Office support, including after-hours as required.

Job Description

Job Title: Admissions Administrator

Department: Admissions

Responsible to: Undergraduate Admissions Manager

Purpose of Job: To provide comprehensive administrative support for the Admissions Office and to support the work of the Tutorial Office

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the undergraduate and postgraduate admissions processes, including:
  • As required, contacting applicants and offer holders via email
  • Maintaining applicant and offer holder files, including receiving and checking documentation
  • Administering and invigilating admissions assessments
  • Assisting with scheduling of interviews, including checking timetables and interview invitations
  • Downloading postgraduate applications from CamSIS and securely sharing them with the Admissions Tutor
  • Maintaining and updating the College’s postgraduate application tracker and postgraduate admissions statistics
  • Ensuring that postgraduate admissions decisions are recorded on CamSIS within a 10-day deadline for each application
  • Answering enquiries from applicants about undergraduate and postgraduate admission procedures
  • Downloading financial information from CamSIS; preparing and filing scholarship award letters
  • Other tasks as required to support the overall work of the Admissions Office
  • Organise all aspects of the administration of the Bridging Course, including:
    • Communicating with Bridging Course offer holders
    • Managing the Bridging Course registration process
    • Planning, organisation and administration of practical elements of the Bridging Course, for example, room bookings, seating plans for dinners, payment systems for course teachers, liaison with College operational departments
    • Operational support for teaching staff and external speakers during the course (September each year), including during evening events
  • Assist the Praelector and the Tutorial Office with the matriculation and induction of new undergraduates and postgraduates.
  • Assisting the Praelector with graduation events throughout the year
  • Undertake day-to-day administrative support for the Admissions Office and Tutorial Office, as agreed by the Undergraduate Admissions Manager and Head of Tutorial.
  • Assisting the Admissions Office with preparation for and delivery of Open Days and other outreach activities
  • Undertaking other tasks as required to support the overall work of the Admissions Office and Tutorial Office, including occasional weekend/evening work (with time off in lieu to be arranged as appropriate)

Education and Qualifications
  • A-levels or equivalent
  • BA Degree or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
  • Relevant experience in an administrative environment
  • Knowledge of the structure and systems of UK higher education, secondary schools and colleges.
  • Experience of financial administration
  • Experience of work in a College Tutorial or Admissions Office
  • Experience of UCAS admissions processes
  • Awareness and understanding of the issues that affect recruitment, especially of under-represented groups, to Cambridge.

  • Excellent command of written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organisation and ability to manage their time effectively,to monitor and respect deadlines, and to prioritise
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

Special Requirements

Some weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will berequired during certain periods, for which time off in lieu isgiven.
