Job summary

Sirona care & health CIC in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire is hiring an Administrator for the NHS AfC Band 3. This 6-month fixed-term contract (potential secondment) is full time (37.5 hours) with flexible working. Salary £25,760 - £27,476 per annum.

Join the MSK administration team and help coordinate referrals, appointments, and patient queries using eReferral and EMIS. You will work with patients, clinicians and colleagues to keep the patient pathway running smoothly from

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of administration work relevant to the position.
  • Proficient IT skills including Word and Excel and databases.
  • NHS experience.
  • Knowledge or current use of EMIS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional and courteous service to a range of customers, liaising with patients/clients, carers, families, health professionals and other organisations. May meet and welcome visitors.
  • Respond to unexpected and challenging situations which may include contact with patients in emotional situations maintaining a calm and professional approach (support available).
  • Gives non-clinical advice and signposts appropriately, e.g. to clinical colleagues
  • Able to escalates issues and risks to line manager as appropriate.
  • Liaises with colleagues, patients/clients and/or external contacts regarding complex messages and patient queries including sensitive information to help the team/service run efficiently and effectively.
  • Adapt communication and use different communications methods according to diverse range of patient/client/customer needs and situations.
  • Responsible for the creation of written and electronic templates, and creation of bespoke letters with guidance.
  • Responsible for maintaining awareness of developments/priorities at work.
  • May provide training for colleagues/new staff and/or day-to-day supervision as appropriate and with support.

Do you enjoy being organised, solving problems and making a difference to people’s experience of healthcare? Join our MSK administration team and play an important role in keeping the patient pathway running smoothly from referral through to onward care.

You’ll be at the heart of the service, working closely with patients, clinicians and colleagues to coordinate appointments, manage referrals and caseloads, complete post clinic actions and arrange onward referrals. You’ll use systems including e Referral and EMIS to ensure information is accurate, up to date and patients receive the right support at the right time.

Every day will bring something different. You’ll respond to patient queries, manage complex or sensitive information and work with colleagues and external organisations to resolve issues and keep things moving. You’ll need excellent communication skills, a calm and professional approach and the confidence to use your initiative when solving problems.
