Job summary

Bluebank School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking an organised Administrator to welcome visitors, manage records and support across a busy service for children and young people. You’ll handle referrals, admissions, examinations administration and recruitment processes while maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards.

We value a capable communicator who can work independently and as part of a team, with strong IT skills and a commitment to safeguarding and high-quality

Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative role with strong organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with written and verbal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with IT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Discretion with confidential information and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential administrative support to managers and colleagues across the service.
  • Be the first point of contact, welcoming visitors and managing calls.
  • Coordinate referrals, admissions and examinations administration; maintain records for children and young people.
  • Assist with recruitment administration and staff onboarding; maintain staff records.
  • Manage diaries, meetings, post, deliveries and electronic access systems.
  • Support financial processes including petty cash, invoices and purchasing activities.
  • Ensure databases and documents comply with safeguarding and data protection standards.

  • Providing high-quality, confidential administrative support to managers and colleagues across the service.
  • Acting as the first point of contact, welcoming visitors, managing calls and ensuring a professional and friendly reception experience.
  • Coordinating referrals, admissions, reviews and maintaining accurate records for children and young people.
  • Supporting the organisation and administration of examinations, including GCSEs, BTECs and other qualifications.
  • Assisting with recruitment administration, onboarding processes and maintaining staff records.
  • Managing diaries, meeting arrangements, post, deliveries and electronic access systems.
  • Supporting financial processes including petty cash, invoices, expenses and purchasing activities.
  • Maintaining accurate databases and documentation while ensuring compliance with safeguarding, data protection and regulatory requirements.

  • Has previous experience in an administrative role and excellent organisational skills.
  • Is a confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Is competent using IT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Can handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Is proactive, flexible and able to prioritise tasks while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, professionalism and achieving the best outcomes for young people.
  • Brings a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
    Bluebank School is an Acorn Education school in Chesterfield, providing specialist education for students aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and other complex learning needs.
