Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Finance Administrator to support customer accounts and financial processes within the Group Receivables Shared Services team. You will be responsible for billing activities, reconciliations, and data integrity in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires attendance in the office four days per week at Future Walk, Chesterfield. AAT qualification or equivalent, strong Excel skills, and a proactive approach are essential for delivering accurate financial services across

This role is based at Future Walk, Chesterfield, S49 1PF, and requires attendance in the office 4 days per week.

Finance shared services have a huge impact on the results of Royal Mail. We are responsible for ensuring customers are billed and cash is received in a timely manner, suppliers are paid appropriately, countries across the world are invoiced or paid in a timely manner, taxes and duties are billed and reconciled. To operate at scale we require lean, efficient processes using systems, automations and data tools.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Administrator to join our Group Receivables Shared Services team, playing a key role in supporting the efficient management of customer accounts and financial processes.

About The Role

The Finance Administrator is responsible for supporting the efficient management of customer accounts, billing activities, reconciliations, and financial data, ensuring all work is delivered accurately and within agreed service levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing billing, reconciliations, and cash allocation activities.
  • Setting up and maintaining customer accounts and services.
  • Processing account amendments through SAP, Salesforce, email, and other approved channels.
  • Maintaining accurate customer and master data records.
  • Investigating and resolving customer, operational, and system-related queries.

About You

The successful candidate will be organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and experience:

  • AAT part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE).
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial or operational data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Experience of SAP and Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of QlikView or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience of customs and duties processes.
