Job summary

Porter role at Sodexo in Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. You will be essential in daily operations, safely moving patients, equipment and supplies across the site, with a professional and patient-facing approach.

The role covers patient and staff guidance, waste handling and transport duties, with shift pattern 16:00–00:00 and 37.5 hours per week. Sodexo offers a competitive package and broad employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients, visitors and staff to correct locations within the hospital.
• Handle waste collection and recycling while maintaining health and safety standards.
• Follow all relevant policies, procedures and management systems.
• Safely transport patients between wards using appropriate equipment and care.
• Deliver specimens, samples and blood products securely across departments.
• Support with respectful transfer of deceased patients.
• Provide additional porter services such as mail delivery, pharmacy runs, moving furniture and transporting records or stock.
