Job summary

Howden Group Services Limited in London offers an Actuarial Summer Internship designed to turn data into insight and build risk expertise. You'll work with the Actuarial team, analysing datasets, pricing risk, and developing models on real client projects over 10 weeks.

No prior insurance experience is required; you’ll be mentored, attend client meetings, and gain exposure to the actuarial lifecycle. The programme leads toward graduate opportunities, with relocation support may be available and

Qualifications

• Penultimate year student in a numerate degree such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Economics or related discipline.
• A-grade (or equivalent) in A-level Mathematics or similar.
• Interest in (re)insurance, actuarial science and risk.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to translate complex information for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyse large datasets to uncover meaningful insights.
• Learn how (re)insurance works and how risk is priced, transferred and managed.
• Support the development of actuarial models and simulations.
• Help prepare client-ready presentations and reports.
• Attend client meetings and gain exposure to the actuarial lifecycle.
• Contribute to global business development projects, including RFPs.
