Job summary

Howden Re is offering a 10-week Actuarial Summer Internship in London starting June 2027. The programme provides exposure to actuarial science, data analysis and client-facing activities with a pathway to Autumn 2028 graduate roles.

You will work on real client projects, develop models, and present insights to stakeholders. The role is designed for penultimate-year numerate students, with a strong math background and a genuine interest in (re)insurance.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year student from a numerate degree such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Economics.
• Achieved an A grade (or equivalent) in A-level Mathematics.
• Interest in (re)insurance, actuarial science and risk.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse large datasets to uncover meaningful insights.
• Learn how (re)insurance works and how risk is priced, transferred and managed.
• Support development of actuarial models and simulations.
• Help prepare client-ready presentations and reports.
• Attend client meetings and gain exposure to the actuarial lifecycle.
• Contribute to global business development projects, including RFPs.
