Job summary

CFC in London is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the Performance Management, MI & Data Analytics team. You’ll work at the core of underwriting performance, performing analyses and reporting that inform pricing decisions and portfolio direction.

You will collaborate with underwriting, claims, products, software development and finance, building commercial awareness while developing your actuarial skills through study support and exam leave.

Qualifications

• A numerate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Currently studying toward actuarial exams; ideally 1–3 exams passed or exemptions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data and derive insights.
• Proficient with Excel or similar data tools to handle and interpret data.
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach.
• Clear communicator who explains findings in a practical way.
• Curious about how actuarial work supports business performance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quantitative analysis using probabilistic and deterministic approaches, helping to break down complex problems and suggest practical solutions.
• Support the development and ongoing improvement of pricing tools, ensuring they are accurate and fit for purpose.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand data requirements and translate them into usable outputs.
• Produce regular and ad hoc reporting with clear commentary on what the numbers show and why it matters.
• Contribute to wider team activity, supporting projects and analysis across the Performance Management team.
