Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking an Activity Coordinator for Cygnet Hospital Sheffield to support patients through engaging activities and therapeutic programmes. The role runs 37.5 hours weekly with a rolling 2-week rota including weekends.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, supported by Occupational Therapy, to help patients recover and re-engage with daily life in a compassionate setting.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Encourage patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities while maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Plan and implement therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained.
• Contribute ideas and facilitate events and activities in a safe manner.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in supporting and enhancing the care of patients.

This role will be working 37.5 hours a week. Shift pattern: 10am-10pm on a rolling 2‑week rota including alternative weekends.

Your Day‑to‑Day:

• Encourage patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities while maintaining any pre‑existing hobbies.
• Plan and implement therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained.
• Contribute ideas and facilitate events and activities in a safe manner.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in supporting and enhancing the care of patients.

We're looking for someone who has
