Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support the Occupational Therapist by developing activity programmes, planning events, and delivering group sessions for patients across on- and off-site settings. The role involves encouraging patient involvement in activities, maintaining hobbies, and facilitating a wide range of therapeutic activities.

• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist with developing activity programmes and planning therapy sessions.
• Encourage patients to access and participate in activities and hobbies.

We are looking for a Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield. This role will be working 37.5 hours a week (Shift pattern: 10am-10pm on a rolling 2 week rota Including alternative weekends) You will be responsible for developing activity programmes, event planning and facilitating 1.1s and group sessions, both on and off site, alongside the Occupational Therapist.

• Your Day-to-Day: We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;
• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner
• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)
