Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Harrow seeks an Activity Coordinator to develop, plan, and oversee activities for Roxeth Ward, a 12-bed acute service for men. The role involves 4 shifts per week plus one weekend day, 9am–5pm, on-site at Harrow. You will foster engaging programmes and support patients in a safe, therapeutic environment.

You should have healthcare experience, be an excellent role model, highly organised, and capable public speaker and activity facilitator. A DBS check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement & oversee activities, outings & events for the people in our care
• Assisting the Occupational Therapist with
• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We are looking for an outstanding Activity Coordinator with a passion for delivering excellent care on Roxeth Ward.

The expected shift pattern will be x5 shifts a week -

Working 4 days a week Monday - Friday and you will be expected to work one day on the weekend each week.

Working Hours will be (9am - 5pm)

Roxeth Ward is our 12 bed acute service for men and is based at Cygnet Hospital Harrow. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

Our acute in-patient psychiatric services offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment for individuals with a wide range of psychological and emotional problems, including those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.

This role will be full time working shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays.
