Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is seeking an Activity Coordinator to develop activity programmes and run events, both on and off site, in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist.

You will support patients, encourage involvement in activities, plan therapy programmes and help secure materials. The role is 37.5 hours per week with a 10am–10pm shift on a rolling 2-week rota, including alternate weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Develop activity programmes and plan events, on and off site.
• Facilitate 1:1s and group sessions with the Occupational Therapist.
• Encourage patients to access and engage in activities and past hobbies.
• Plan and implement therapy programmes and obtain necessary materials.
