Sense has a fantastic opportunity for an Activity Coordinator to join our team at our College in Peterborough. This is a permanent role working 22.5 hours per week. As an Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading activities across the adult social care provision and line managing a small team of Support Workers.
You will encourage individuals to develop valuable, relevant life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational, and leisure pursuits. You will support people with disabilities to participate in various activities at our Sense Centre and access local community facilities. Additionally, you will supervise team members and provide support with personal care tasks as needed.
You will lead activity sessions both at the day centre and in the wider local community. Your responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing sessions, as well as maintaining a safe and functional learning environment. You will also supervise Support Workers.
Experience in implementing activities with an emphasis on learning outcomes is essential, along with a progressive outlook on disability issues. An artistic, creative, or sporting background is desirable.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, teamworking abilities, literacy, awareness of disability needs, and flexibility.
