Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Bierley in Bradford, part of the Cygnet Group, is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support and enhance patient care across four wards. This role is 37.5 hours per week with shifts including alternate weekends and evenings, working alongside Occupational Therapists to plan engaging activities.

You will encourage participation, help run therapy programmes, contribute ideas for events, and ensure materials are available. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We are looking for an Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bierley.

You will be working 37.5 Hours per week (Shift Times to be agreed but will including alternative weekends and Evenings).

Cygnet Hospital Bierley provides a range of acute and low secure mental health services for men and women.

The hospital is set across four wards offering single-sex male and female specialist mental health services. All our services are provided under the umbrella of a recovery orientated approach and are reviewed through the CPA framework.

Cygnet Hospital Bierley has a true focus on the service user and the over-riding aim of providing the best quality treatment and care possible. The team are committed to delivering care and treatment guided by the principles of a trauma-informed approach.

Your Day-to-Day…

• We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;
• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
