Job summary

Quantum Care in Bishop's Stortford is seeking an Activity Care Assistant for Elm View Care Home, a modern 78-bed residence offering high‑end care and hotel‑style facilities.

You will provide compassionate, person‑centred activities to help residents maintain independence and dignity, working closely with the care team across shifts including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Empathetic individual with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake appropriate induction training and learning opportunities.
• Ability to work within a 24/7/365 operation including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a variety of engaging activities and social events for residents
• Utilise resources and computer to plan and inform families on resident activities
• Work with the care team to tailor activities to residents' needs
• Encourage residents to pursue hobbies and personal goals
• Create a stimulating and welcoming environment
• Support events, celebrations and seasonal activities within the home
• Ensure activities comply with health, safety and safeguarding policies
• Promote dignity, respect and person-centred care

Activity Care Assistant

Bishop's Stortford, a contemporary luxury 78‑bed residential home.

Elm View Care Home is positioned as a modern, purpose‑built care home with a strong focus on high‑end facilities, hotel‑style living, and personalised care.

you will provide compassionate person‑cantered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

What You’ll Bring

• It is not necessary to have previous experience of working in a similar care environment because, as long as you are an empathetic individual who has a positive attitude and good communication skills, our first‑class training will do the rest.
• You will be able to undertake all aspects of caring for older people with compassion and respect in order to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents.
• Our staff have access to first class induction training and ongoing learning and development opportunities including the opportunity to work towards industry recognised qualifications.
• Our Homes operate on a 24/7, 365‑day basis therefore you will need to be able to work shifts (including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays).
• You must be aged 18 years or over to apply for this job.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
