Job summary

Quantum Care’s Elm View Care Home in Bishop's Stortford is seeking an Activity Care Assistant to join our 78-bed, hotel-style home. You will provide compassionate, person-centred care and help residents enjoy meaningful activities.

No prior care experience required; we offer full training and development. We provide competitive pay, extra weekend rates, DBS check, pension and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Empathy and a positive attitude with good communication skills are essential.
• Ability to undertake caring tasks for older people with compassion and respect.
• Induction training and ongoing learning opportunities are provided.
• Must be able to work shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays.
• You must be 18 years or over to apply.
• Good computer skills will be useful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver engaging activities and social events for residents.
• Use computer resources to plan and inform families about activities.
• Collaborate with care team to tailor activities to residents' needs (physical, emotional, cognitive).
• Encourage residents to pursue hobbies and personal goals.
• Create a stimulating, safe and welcoming environment for all residents.
• Support events, celebrations, themed days and seasonal activities in the home.
• Ensure activities comply with health, safety and safeguarding policies.
• Promote dignity, respect and person-centred care at all times.

Contract: Full Time- Perm

Hour: 30 – 35 hours per week

Pay: £12.96 per hour weekdays & £13.96 per hour weekends

Shift Times: 7.30am to 2.30pm/2.30pm to 9.30pm – Weekdays and alternative Weekends

We are seeking an Activity Care Assistant to join our Hotel Styled Boutique feel Care Home in Bishop's Stortford, a contemporary luxury 78-bed residential home. Elm View Care Home is positioned as a modern, purpose-built care home with a strong focus on high-end facilities, hotel-style living, and personalised care.

As an Activity Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate person‑centered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

What You’ll Bring

• It is not necessary to have previous experience of working in a similar care environment because, as long as you are an empathetic individual who has a positive attitude and good communication skills, our first‑class training will do the rest.
• You will be able to undertake all aspects of caring for older people with compassion and respect in order to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents.
• Our staff have access to first class induction training and ongoing learning and development opportunities including the opportunity to work towards industry recognised qualifications.
• Our Homes operate on a 24/7, 365-day basis therefore you will need to be able to work shifts (including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays).
• You must be aged 18 years or over to apply for this job.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
