Job summary

Leonard Cheshire at Gloucestershire House in Cheltenham is seeking an Activities Worker to plan and deliver engaging social and recreational activities for residents, including individuals who are non-verbal or use wheelchairs.

The role requires a full driving licence, flexibility to work Wednesday and Thursday (7 hours) with remaining hours on other days, and a warm, caring approach. We offer competitive hourly pay of £13.38 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Activities Worker is essential.
  • Experience supporting non-verbal, wheelchair users with complex needs is advantageous.
  • Full driving licence is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work flexibly and creatively, including evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive social and recreational activities.
  • Support residents to explore interests and participate in community life.
  • Organise outings, events and creative sessions to encourage participation.

£13.38 per hour | Part Time | 15 hours per week | Gloucestershire House, Cheltenham

A home with heart

Gloucestershire House is a residential service with nursing support in Cheltenham, and home for up to 30 disabled adults. We also provide supported living bungalows for up to six more people. Residents are deeply involved in the running of the entire service. You’ll find excellent facilities, a friendly and positive atmosphere and a beautiful local area.

Ideally we are looking for an Activities Worker to work 7 hours on both Wednesday and Thursday, with the remaining 6 hours on any other day - however we remain flexible and are happy to discuss alternative arrangements.
