Job summary

Care South’s Fairlawn home in Ferndown is seeking an Activities Assistant to support a varied programme of social activities for residents, including those living with dementia. You’ll help plan and deliver engaging events that promote wellbeing, companionship and daily enjoyment.

You’ll work with a friendly team, build meaningful relationships with residents, encourage independence, and provide warm, person-centred support during meals and daily routines. Training and development are offered.

Qualifications

• Warm, energetic and outgoing; excellent communication with diverse residents.
• Ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds with empathy.
• Comfortable planning and supporting social activities for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of engaging social/therapeutic activities tailored to residents.
• Help plan and run a calendar of events promoting wellbeing and enjoyment.
• Observe residents' changing needs and raise concerns with the care team.
• Assist during meals to create a calm, sociable dining experience.
• Encourage independence and active participation in daily life.
