Care South’s Fairlawn home in Ferndown is seeking an Activities Assistant to support a varied programme of social activities for residents, including those living with dementia. You’ll help plan and deliver engaging events that promote wellbeing, companionship and daily enjoyment.

You’ll work with a friendly team, build meaningful relationships with residents, encourage independence, and provide warm, person-centred support during meals and daily routines. Training and development are offered.

Qualifications

• Warm, energetic and outgoing; excellent communication with diverse residents.
• Ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds with empathy.
• Comfortable planning and supporting social activities for seniors.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Activities Assistant to join the team at Fairlawn, our residential care home, located in the heart of the Ferndown community. In this role you will be responsible for helping to plan and deliver an on-going programme of social activities for the home's residents.,

• Supporting the delivery of a varied and engaging programme of social and therapeutic activities tailored to our residents' interests and needs, including those living with dementia.
• Helping to plan and run a calendar of events that promotes wellbeing, connection, and enjoyment.
• Observing and responding to residents' changing needs, raising any concerns with the care team as appropriate.
• Assisting during mealtimes to create a calm, sociable, and enjoyable dining experience.
• Encouraging and supporting residents to maintain independence and participate actively in daily life.
