Job summary

Kingfisher House Care Home in Perth is seeking an Activities Coordinator to deliver creative, person-centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction for residents. You will plan a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests and care needs.

We welcome candidates with experience in activities or similar roles; training and support are provided. The role is part-time, with options to develop in a supportive team environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
  • Genuine interest in supporting older people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in activities or similar role is beneficial; transferable skills welcome (hospitality, events, childcare, community work).

Job description

Kingfisher House Care Home is a purpose built 77 bed care home located in Perth, set in a stunning riverside location on the banks of the River Tay. Providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care, the home offers a modern and well supported environment where team members can develop their skills, work as part of a strong team and make a meaningful difference every day.

  • £13.20 per hour
  • Contracted to 15-20 hours per week
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
