Job summary

Hallhouse Care Home in Fenwick, East Ayrshire, is seeking an Activities Coordinator on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) at £13.60 per hour. You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities to promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction for residents, including those living with dementia.

This role welcomes both experienced candidates and those new to care; training and support are provided.

• Creative, organised and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• Genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in activities or similar role beneficial; transferable skills from hospitality, events, childcare or community work encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents' interests and care needs.
• Deliver engaging activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.
• Build strong relationships to understand preferences and enable inclusive participation, including those with dementia.
• Work as part of the wider care team to create a positive, stimulating environment where residents feel valued and connected.
• Training and support are provided to help you develop in the role, suitable for both experienced candidates and newcomers.

Located in the peaceful village of Fenwick, East Ayrshire, Hallhouse Care Home provides high-quality Residential, Nursing, and Respite care for up to 47 residents.

With an impressive carehome.co.uk rating of 9.9 and Care Inspectorate grades of 5, 5, 5, 4, and 5, we are dedicated to delivering compassionate, person-centred care in a warm and welcoming environment.

Activities Coordinator Contract

• £13.60 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
