Job summary

St Margaret's Care Home in Edinburgh seeks an Activities Coordinator to lead engaging, person-centred activities for residents. You will plan and run group sessions, while fostering meaningful one-to-one interactions to enrich daily life and social connection.

We value a sociable, organised individual with a genuine passion for supporting older adults. Prior experience in activities or care roles is beneficial, and you will join a supportive team in a welcoming environment.

  • Sociable, creative and engaging personality essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan activity programmes.
  • Genuine passion for working with older people and supporting wellbeing.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and encourage participation.
  • Confidently lead activities, events and group sessions.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in activities, events, hospitality, care or customer-facing roles is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and facilitate group activities and events for residents.
  • Create one-to-one engagement to connect with individual residents.
  • Encourage residents to pursue hobbies and maintain social connections.
  • Build relationships with residents to understand their preferences and needs.

Job description

St Margaret's Care Home, located in Edinburgh, provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite Care in a warm and welcoming environment. Known for its person centred approach and commitment to excellence, the home has built a strong reputation for delivering outstanding care and creating a supportive community for residents and colleagues alike.

  • £12.71 per hour
  • 35 hours per week
  • Paid PVG, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
