Job summary

Guthrie House Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking an Activities Coordinator to bring joy, connection and meaningful experiences to residents every day. You will plan and lead engaging group activities and events, fostering social interaction and wellbeing.

The role focuses on building relationships, tailoring activities to individual interests, and encouraging participation. You will work both independently and as part of the care team, bringing a sociable, creative approach to the home.

Qualifications

• Sociable, creative and engaging personality.
• Strong organisational skills and confidence planning activity programmes.
• Genuine passion for working with older people and supporting wellbeing.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships and encourage participation.
• Confidence leading activities, events and group sessions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in activities, events, hospitality, care or customer facing roles is beneficial but not essential.

Job description

Guthrie House Care Home, located in Edinburgh, provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative Care in a warm and welcoming environment. Set in the peaceful surroundings of South East Edinburgh, the home is known for its compassionate approach, strong community spirit, and dedication to delivering exceptional care.

• £12.99 per hour
• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday to Fridat 9AM-5PM - Although flexibility required to cover evenining activities anf occassional weekends.
• Paid PVG pension and uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
