Job summary

Penrose Care Home in Biggleswade is seeking an Activities Coordinator to enhance residents' daily life by delivering engaging activities tailored to individual interests and care needs.

You will plan group and one-to-one activities, build relationships with residents (including those living with dementia) and work with the wider team to create a supportive, inclusive environment. Training and support are provided to help you develop in the role.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in activities or similar role is beneficial; transferable skills welcome.

Job description

Situated in the residential area of Kings Reach in the market town of Biggleswade, our private, luxury care home offers several types of care for up to 65 residents.

Activities Coordinator Contract

• £14.60 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
