Job summary

Valarian Court Care Home, based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, is looking for an Activities Coordinator to enhance daily life for residents through engaging activities. The role involves planning and delivering group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests and care needs.

You will build strong relationships with residents, including those living with dementia, and contribute to a positive, stimulating environment. Training and support are provided to help you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Creative, organised and enthusiastic approach.

• Genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in activities or similar role is Beneficial; transferable skills from hospitality or events encouraged.

Job description

Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, our newly-built care home offers exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 70-residents.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.
