Job description

About The Role

In your role as an Activities Co-ordinator at HC-One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every team member understands that our Residents are individuals with their own stories, just like them. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.

As an Activities Co-ordinator, your responsibilities include planning and implementing activities that delight our Residents, assisting the Home Manager with fundraising events, and encouraging Residents to socialise and participate in hobbies. Your work will be driven by kindness and a genuine desire to improve Residents' quality of life.

We seek someone with experience working with vulnerable individuals, preferably in developing activity programmes. Your positive energy, ability to connect with people, strong planning, organisational, and IT skills, and effective time management are essential. You will communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know the procedures for reporting concerns. All staff will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You must be proactive in seeking advice and escalating concerns when necessary.

We offer full training to support your development. In return, you will enjoy various benefits supporting your well-being and career growth, including:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG check
  • Free uniform
  • A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Group life assurance
  • Wagestream – flexible access to earned wages
  • Learning and development opportunities, including qualifications
  • GP online service for 24/7 consultations, available for you and your children under 16
  • Support from experienced colleagues within a dedicated team
  • Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
  • Confidential Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support
  • Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
  • Refer a Friend scheme offering up to £1000 per successful referral

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where our staff can be their authentic selves. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and aim for a swift onboarding process from offer to start date.
