Job summary

Responsibilities

• Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture to increase morale, productivity and performance.
• Increase the quality and range of sport and physical activity opportunities before/after school and at lunch.
• Develop pathways between school and sport clubs to support transitions to club sport.
• Recruit, retain and develop volunteers, coaches, leaders and teachers delivering opportunities in school and club sport.
• Increase youth volunteering as sport leaders and coaches in school and club settings.
• Boost participation among under-represented groups including girls, young women and disabled children/youth.
• Collaborate with education and sports staff to connect Active Schools to PE, school sport and club sport.
• Deliver programmes to profile sport and motivate children and young people to get involved.
• Support Active Scotland initiatives such as Positive Coaching Scotland, Fit for Girls, Young Ambassadors and Community Sport Hubs.
• Source funding opportunities and manage a budget for the Active Schools annual action plan.
• Coordinate extended curricular opportunities for physical activity and sport in school and wider community.
• Pursue CPD and contribute to High Life Highland’s continuous improvement.
• Attend and undertake training online or in person.
• Aim to reduce wastage and uphold sustainable/environmental values in all tasks.
• Assist other HLH areas with projects or holidays/sickness, working across the HLH team.
• Maintain awareness of risk management per HLH policies.
