Job summary

High Life Highland is seeking a proactive Leisure Assistant to join our team in Scotland. You will support the running of our centre, promote a friendly, safe environment and help deliver children’s activities and play schemes during holidays.

Key duties include equipment setup and maintenance, general cleaning, safety checks, first aid where trained, covering reception, protecting data, promoting membership benefits and contributing to service improvements as part of a committed Leisure team.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote a positive workplace culture
  • Comply with Health & Safety recommendations and guidelines
  • Update yourself on operating procedures and carry out accordingly
  • Organise/lead activities and classes within the programme
  • Set out and take down equipment and ensure high safety/cleanliness
  • Carry out routine maintenance of equipment and fittings
  • General cleaning of all areas to a high standard
  • Check cleanliness and safety regularly and ensure safe methods of work
  • Provide first aid if qualified and trained
  • Cover reception duties as required
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policy
  • Promote HLH membership scheme and its benefits
  • Be friendly and helpful to users and uphold customer care
  • Work as part of a team and contribute to centre development
  • Attend training and achieve relevant qualifications
  • Suggest improvements to increase centre effectiveness
  • Pursue CPD and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Attend training online or in person
  • Aim to reduce wastage and uphold environmental values
  • Support other areas of HLH on projects or in case of holidays/sickness
  • Maintain awareness of risk management per HLH policy
