Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Shrewsbury is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6-month contract. The role is 30 hours per week, five days in seven, with some weekend shifts and Sundays. You will deliver letters and parcels, use a Royal Mail van, and work outdoors in all weather, building relationships with customers.

Full training is provided, along with a uniform and a dedicated van. A full manual UK driving licence is required, plus the ability to pass a driving assessment and

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all weathers
