Job summary

Royal Mail in Clitheroe is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. You’ll deliver letters and parcels in your local area, walking and driving a Royal Mail van, with a 35-hour week on a 5-in-7 schedule and some weekend work.

Full training is provided. A full manual UK driving licence (6 penalty points max) is required, along with reliability and the ability to work outdoors in all weathers.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) is required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, stairs/hills, and lifting mailbags (10kg+).
• Reliable and self-motivated with good time management.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Deliver on-route items during peak periods.
