Job summary

Royal Mail in Chorley is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating schedule across Monday to Sunday. This permanent role is 30 hours per week, with a rota that may include Sundays and varies by demand.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence and must pass a driving assessment. The job is outdoor, active, and customer-facing, with full training and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and registered to your current name/address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with good time management.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
