Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Andover is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6‑month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels, with a 37‑hour week on a rotating shift including some weekends. A full manual UK driving licence is required and training will be provided.

The role is physical and outdoors, offering a rewarding, community‑facing service with varied daily routes.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
