Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Ashford (TN23) is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role is 30 hours per week with overtime, typically 08:00–15:00 or 14:00–20:30 across a 5-in-7 rota, including some weekends.

You will deliver letters and parcels, walk long distances, and work outdoors in all weathers. You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence, a willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift and carry mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service and comfort working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
