Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Barnstaple is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels, sort at the office, and engage with customers while working a 34-hour week on a rotating shift.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, physical fitness for outdoor work, and reliability. Training is provided with a uniform and full Royal Mail van.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required with up to 6 penalty points.
• Comfortable driving a Royal Mail van on a daily route.
• Physically fit for long walks and lifting mailbags (10kg+).
• Reliable and self-motivated worker in a busy, outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and operate in all weather.
• Work outdoors, independently and manage time on a busy route.
