Job summary

Royal Mail in Manchester is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed term 6-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels in the local area, using a Royal Mail van and walking routes, on a rotating shift including weekends.

Full UK manual driving licence required, fitness for long walks, and a reliable, customer-focused approach. 30 hours/week, 14:00–20:00, with overtime available.

Qualifications

• You’ll need: a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) on your name and address
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable, self-motivated and well organised
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Drive a Royal Mail van daily
• Work outdoors in all weather
• Deliver high volumes of parcels during peak periods
