Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for Leeds. This fixed-term role (6 months) involves a 30-hour week on a rotating shift, including weekends. You’ll sort mail, drive a Royal Mail van, and deliver in the local area, building customer relationships while working outdoors in all weather.

Training is provided, with a red van and uniform supplied. The position offers overtime, pension support, and benefits; the rota may vary by demand, ensuring a dynamic, community-facing role

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
