Job summary

Royal Mail in Keighley is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour week basis. Your rota includes weekends and some shifts across 5 days in 7, with a fixed-term 6-month contract. Full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van are provided.

You’ll walk long distances, drive daily, and work outdoors in all weather. This role is rewarding and community-facing, with overtime paid where available.

Qualifications

• Must have a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Deliver high volumes of letters and parcels on time
