Job summary

Royal Mail in Leeds is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a 35-hour week, with a rotating shift including weekends. You'll work across Holbeck and Sheepscar routes, with training provided and a uniform supplied.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit to walk long distances, and enjoy working outdoors while building relationships with customers in the community. The role is fixed-term for six months with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment; customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and communities.
• Work outdoors in all weather, following a rotating shift.
