Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Leigh for a 6-month fixed term contract. You will work 30 hours weekly across shifts, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot in your local area. The role is outdoors, with weekend work and a rotating schedule.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit to walk long distances, and be reliable and customer-focused. Training is provided, with overtime available and a shared sense of community responsibility.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) is required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances with mailbags.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Deliver items including letters and parcels with care.
