Job summary

Royal Mail in Cheadle is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will work 33 hours per week across a 07:30–15:30 shift, with weekend work on a rotating schedule, in a rolling rota that may vary by demand.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence and will deliver letters and parcels locally. The role is outdoor, physically demanding, and rewards you with overtime and monthly pay.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (with up to 6 penalty points) is required.
• Be physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
