Job summary

Royal Mail in Rochdale is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, sort items at the delivery office, and build strong relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather conditions.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, reliability, and the ability to handle long walks and lifting 10kg+ mailbags. 30 hours per week with overtime available and training provided.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and customer-focused.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy outdoor environment.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.
